“I have been involved and worked in student programming for over 15 years and have never experienced anything as unique and engaging as Joe’s visit, workshop, and performance at our school. He intricately and authentically weaves together narratives of the campus community into his performance, while sharing his own college experiences in the process. Unlike many other college performers I’ve booked and seen at NACA showcases, Joe’s performance becomes a meaningful reflection and dialogue on identity, narrative, and culture and how it intersects with current issues students are facing on your particular campus. Students, faculty, and staff were genuinely energized by this event and I’m confident that it will lead to more critical dialogue around issues of diversity and inclusiveness on our campus.”
— Ryan Kasmier, Director of Student Life, Middlebury Institute of International Studies

Joe is currently touring FOUR college shows:

Joe's college show takes a high-energy interactive approach at discussing diversity on college campuses.  “I talk about my own insecurities, growing up Polish & Mexican in Chicago and how that affected my experience as a student at Princeton University. I didn't feel like I fit in ANYWHERE. I challenge current ideas of masculinity and what it means to be a ‘real man.’ I also poke fun at my own romantic relationships and the ups and downs of college life. My goal is to always create a personal connection with every student.” Along with his performance, Joe can be hired to teach a performance poetry writing workshop which dives deep into each person’s personal story. Dr. Michael Eric Dyson says, “Joe tells difficult truths with unsparing honesty leavened with glorious wit and humor.”

Joe has opened for everyone from legendary musician John Mellencamp to comedian Carlos Mencia. He has performed at the Unidos US annual conference several times, including warming up the crowd for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.  He has performed at several NACA conferences as well as the San Francisco Hip-Hop Theater Festival, the NYC Fringe Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, just to name a few.

Joe has performed his unique blend of stand-up comedy and spoken word poetry at the below list of colleges and universities.
